Pink Slip Gives Back to the Community
(Thu Aug 28, 2008 06:40 AM CT)

In celebration of Pink Slip Records' underground success with 5th Flow, the label donated a portion of the proceeds from the group's Quarter to a Half Mixtape to establish a scholarship at Prairie View A & M University (PVAMU), 5th Flow's alma matta. Broderick Soders, VP of Marketing, observed, "It's given me a great deal of joy to reach out to the college community that has supported us tremendously throughout the years."

Pink Slip Records is pleased to announce Levar McCloud as this year's winner of the 5th Flow Scholarship Award. Levar is a senior at PVAMU seeking a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineer. Levar is member of Epsilon Gamma Iota, Inc and has been actively involved in several of the Chapter's volunteer efforts. Not only that, he supports 5th Flow.

The 5th Flow Scholarship Award was created to promote and further academic and professional development education in minority youths. It provides the recipient a total of $1500 for pursuing a for-credit education in engineering. The scholarship is administered through Pink Slip Records Educational Foundation.

Online applications for next semester will be added soon.
