Names like Kanye West, R. Kelly, and Twista all have one thing in common, Chicago's South Side. Now hip-hop producer turned rapper JClay can be added to the same prestigious list of talent. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Jelani R. Clay realized his love for music at an early age. As an adolescent, JClay was in awe as he listened to his sister decipher the notes to the Coca Cola jingle on the family piano and was often visited by the Afro-Cuban drum patterns of his percussionist father. As a result, JClay was able to hone his talent.
